The 50 year old cruise ship terminal is too short for many of the newer super cruise ships who can accommodate as many as 6000 passengers plus crew. With a record 33 cruise ships berthing in the February peak period, and another cruise season record of 214 ships booked for Sydney, there is a lot of demand for cruise terminal space.

Sydney Ports has committed more than $80 million to terminal capacity solutions including the new White Bay 5 Cruise Passenger Terminal and a Master Plan to investigate the best way of upgrading the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay.

Architectus is providing urban design, planning and architecture services, and will work closely with Bermello Ajamil (Miami) who is providing expertise in cruise terminal operations.

This project is ongoing. More details regarding this project will be added when made available.
