My life as I know it…the name, Dena Hamed (also known as Dee). I was born in the United States (small town Columbia, Missouri) to migrant Egyptian parents in 1986. I spent the first two years of my life in the USA, the following two years in Cairo, Egypt and then migrated to Australia with my parents and two older brothers when I was just four years old (1991). My oldest clear memory would be of that plane trip coming to Australia. I remember it as if it were yesterday.
A long time has passed since arriving to Australia and I have now moved on, grown up and stepped out into the real world.
I love design, any design. Industrial, graphic and architectural, you name it! As I left high school, the decision to choose my future profession became rather difficult. I wanted to do everything, but was that even possible? After much deliberation, I decided on architecture. I figured architecture does incorporate other aspects of design, not specifically just building design. I currently hold a Bachelors of Architecture (design) degree and have recently completed the Masters of Architecture (design) degree.
